This is a real welcoming street in one of the kampongs in Malang, East Java.

Of course, first I made a drawing as you can see above. Afterwards I made the painting from this drawing. The problem is then, that the drawing is gone. A lot of my good friends have advised me to make the drawings two times. I think I will follow that advise.

Talking about the painting, as you can see I like to play with the colors to give you the real feeling of the moment I was making the painting on this location. To capture the feeling in the right way, that means that I am happy with it, I use all these colors and flowers to describe the essence of this kampong – not by words but by the painting.

As I said before, it is an inviting street in the Kampong. Cars and motorbikes are not allowed to be here – it is impossible for them to get in anyway, it gives the freedom for the people who live there and especially for the kids.
