Description:

A lovely place on the beach of Kaliasem. This is a muslim village. Very nice atmosphere, very friendly people, relaxed, no worry. I sit there maybe a week to make this painting. The strong shadows also giving the separation of the illegal houses and warungs on the left side of the painting, on the right side are the bigger houses from stone and two stores. This situation is already around 70 or 80 years. Nobody cares. Living their daily life is much more important. This little street with these wonderful flowers is just 12 meter from the beach where the children playing and people walking around. I make the colors very intensive and bright because it was such an open and relaxed feeling that I also was thinking, who cares, why not, enjoy…………………. So I am sure when you look to this painting you also enjoy it and have the same feeling.
